The SuperNova is ideal for recreational and touring paddlers looking for a durable and more comfortable alternative to wet suits or paddling jackets. This Hydrus 2.5 layer paddling suit has all the features of Kokatat’s top end dry suits, but with a neoprene neck gasket instead of the traditional latex and flexible entry and relief zippers. Still in that sub 3lbs weight range that all our Kokatat dry suits are in.
“What makes it “semi-dry”?” you might ask (we did too). The neck and cuff gaskets being neoprene instead of latex. More comfortable, but in the advent of a full submersion not quite as dry.
There is no guarantee on gaskets for this product. These products have been sealed and sitting on a shelf in a heated, controlled environment. These are left over from a batch we bought to rent out and the gaskets on the rentals have yet to fail despite several days of use over several seasons, that said, time does take a toll on latex gaskets.
This item is a factory second and therefore has been discounted accordingly. Typically this is a small patch on the inside of the suit. In no way will it affect the functionality of the suit and is typically not visible from the outside.
